Kanji Unimpressive @Sikar Road

Kanji, according to my last blog was quite impressive, that's true but the Sikar Road outlet is equally unimpressive! Though of trying this place post my experience of Sindhi Camp one, but this has truly let me down! This outlet has a hotel attached to it with may be 20 rooms and a huge area for the sweetmeat shop! A place outside the restaurant for the fast food viz.. pao bhaji, chole bhature n stuff.... I could see the entire mise-en-scene has been done up well & whatever you want is packed ASAP! There were chopped onion, tomatoes, coriander and chutneys & stuff placed in a bain marie & your orders are just binded ingredients in a closed jar and served to you which did not impress me..... I could hardly see the cooking of Bhaji or Chole for my orders of Pao Bhaji & Chola Kulcha....coz the items may be were cooked beforehand 2-4-6 donot know how many hours ago! Taste was again even worse than the usual chole & bhaji served any where in the city. Peop

Thali's more than enough @Thali & More

So today it's Thali and More, located at C scheme & what I came to know about the chain is of the same owner as of Kebab & Curries! I have been trying to dine at this outlet for long but the queue outside did not let us do so. Finally reached the place on Sunday afternoon & was surprised to see that 60% tables were occupied during the day which is a good sign. The ambience is very cool with few high tables & chairs on the corner, at the center you will find table with regular heights & family tables, my personal favorite was high chairs, which gave the feel of sitting at the bar counter...lol There is another section where there are all sofas & enclosed area, which is good for families! Coming to the food, the menu had great choices, but as the name says Thali & more, I did not go for anything more and restricted myself to the Thali which has must say...damn delicious. I always loved Dal Bati Churma at Khole ke hanuman ji in Jaipur, which has the best Ra

Dhamal @Khandelwal

Khandelwal restaurant-cum-dhaba at Sikar road is a bit confusing to people as the place has an array of Khandelwal's serving authentic & for many years, which I never got to know what the actuals are, coz I have been visiting this outlet for the past 4+ years in Jaipur. I have never seen a dish which is tasteless at this place..... It is a place where I have consumed breakfast, lunch & dinner all courses... and was not disappointed at any point of time. Recommended dishes for breakfast are undoubtedly Parathas with Chai!! all time fav & you can enjoy at outdoor seating in the cane sofas.... Have an option of sitting outside in cane sofas or the indoor chilling AC restaurant. For the lunch I would recommend the Chole Bhature, which are again a win win! Dinners have always been crowded & full of waiting outside the restaurant, but yes if you are kept on waiting for 10-15 mins, it would be worth it, coz the taste would satisfy you. Must try dishes for dinner: Dal Tadka

Can't Jee without eating @Kanji

Kanji, has been an old name in the Jaipur city, since the opening & had been renovating outlets, experimenting with its creations time to time to entice its customers..... Having increased the no. of outlets, but still the Sindhi camp outlet goes gaga when it comes to the taste of the outlet... It has been a bit away from people's eyes because of the competitor on the other side of the road, but the taste at this end of the road is marvellous. Located on one of the busiest roads of Jaipur, Station road, would recommend not to take your car to the outlet & park at nearby parking, maybe under the Khasa Koti Flyover... Options of dine in & take away are readily available & for take aways, there are few items which can last for approx. 5-7 days. Coming to the food, which has really wowed me since the day I have had its kachoris... This place has the best Kachoris in the pink city..... Donot get carried away with big names in the city, if you love the taste, this is the

Can Have More @Havmor!!

Havmor has always been the talk of the town, be it Shastri Nagar, C Scheme or Vidhyadhar Nagar.... The range is really good & you can relish from a huge range of Scoops & Cups... The best thing about Havmor's taste is the lightness & overall mouthfeel.... it does not feel like the usual ice creams which have chunks of ice inside.... This simply melts inside the mouth & are not selling frozen dessert in the name of ice cream.... Ice cream's are known to origin as far as the second century B.C., no date of origin nor inventor has been credited with its discovery. Its known that Alexander the Great enjoyed snow and ice flavored with honey and nectar. During the Roman Empire, Nero Claudius Caesar frequently sent runners into the mountains for snow, which was then flavored with fruits and juices, but none has taken credit for the Ice creams.... Here coming back to Jaipur, there are lot of options, but Havmor has been picking up and has increased its outlets to 10+ in

Spicy Treats @Spice It!!

Spice I t up !! My headline for the day... is for this real gem, small Spice It restaurant at ibis Jaipur. Small place with inside & outside space for dining, options for sofa & chairs not much crowded, but yes it is really a quiet place for you to unwind an evening with your loved ones... Located at the main Hawa Sadak road, this hotel is well equipped with all security features from the very entrance. Coming to the ambience, the restaurant is located at lobby level with couches for waiting at the lobby... You keep on walking and cross the bar situated adjacent to the restaurant, which is a small bar with some good bar stools. There is a small banquet connected to the restaurant. Though the restaurant is small, around 40-45 covers, i guess, but yes the service & food kills it all.....You are blown away with the personalised service of the Chef & Service guys.... The menu has been designed nicely, seems a bit confusing initially, but it is made in way that you just need
